

She was born March 2, 1930, in Bristol, W.Va., a daughter of the late W. Fay and Clarcie Emerson.
Norma was an active member of the North End Church of Christ. She was a past president and a lifetime member of the Stepping Stones for Ohio Valley University. She spent many hours in volunteer work for Christian education. She enjoyed her time as secretary at Powell apartments, Ohio Valley College, and Sadler Landscape Nursery. Norma regularly donated to help orphans, especially in the Zambia Mission where her granddaughter worked.
She is survived by her three children, Sharon Bogard of Parkersburg, Cathy (Brian) Dowler of Cranberry Twp., Pa., and Bob Sadler of Parkersburg; one sister, Nola McKain of Parkersburg; one sister-in-law, Juanita Emerson of Clarksburg; six grandchildren, Matthew (Zori) Bogard of Vienna, W.Va., Lisa (Lee) Moore of Washington, W.Va., Ashley Dowler of Arlington, Va., Joshua (Neely) Dowler of Alexandria, Va., Jacob Dowler of Nashville, Tenn., and Madison Sadler of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and three great-grandsons, Lucas, Nathan, and Caleb Moore of Washington, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn D. Sadler; her two brothers, Nolan Fay Emerson and Burl Addison Emerson; and a son-in-law, Gregory F. Bogard.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, with Brian Dowler and Matthew Bogard officiating.
