Valerie Nicole Stevens of Belpre, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday morning, March 14, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was the loving daughter of Randy and Debbie Stevens, sister to brother Philip and precious granddaughter to paternal grandmother, Dorothy Stevens. She left behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joe and Dorothy Gilliand, paternal grandfather, John Stevens, and her aunts, Mary Jo Gilliand and Linda Hobbs. Valerie was a wonderful cook and her favorite treat was fixing chocolate covered strawberries for all to enjoy. She was full of life and was always on board for dancing the night away with her friends whenever Cherry On Top was in town. The only thing she loved more than concerts and road trips as worship music. Her laughter was contagious and her “Where’d that come from !?!” humor defied comebacks. She attended The Journey Church of Marietta where she served the Lord in children’s ministries. She loved little kids. For years she attended the former Extreme Encounter Ministries Church where she served the homeless and was involved with children’s ministries as well. She was a hard worker and was employed by Sears for a few years. She was a home school graduate. The family thanks Marietta Hospice whose doctors and staff took care of Valerie and her family for a short time. Special gratitude is extended to Dr. Mirza Hamarani and the DaVita Dialysis nurses and technicians who cared for Valerie for over ten years. A celebration of her life will be officiated by Pastor Cody Parman on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. and one hour before the service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetparkersburg.com
