Barbara and husband Ian Terry have called Coombs home since they arrived in 1972. They immigrated from England after their wedding in 1966, first landing in Ontario, then making their way west to Vancouver Island. Together they owned and operated the Coombs General Store for more than 21 years, where they developed a deep commitment to community involvement and local politics. Barbara was a District 69 School Trustee and School Board Chair for many years. She volunteered her time at French Creek Elementary School, the Community Foundation, ACES, Coombs Fall Fair, Coombs Candy Walk and many other community events and organizations. She touched many lives and will be remembered for all that she gave to her friends, family, and community. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make a donation to a local charity of your choice.
