Barrie George BARNES

He was predeceased by his wife, Georgina Evelyn Barnes (Nee Minto); father of Clifford (Ruly) Barnes, Catherine (Alex) Thompson, Douglas (Alanna) Barnes, and Melissa Cline; grandfather to Andrew Barnes (predeceased), Stephanie and Barry (Chantal) Barnes, Jessica (Ivan) Mongrain, Amanda and Hollie Thompson, Amy-Lynn, Vanessa, and John Barnes, Lauren, Megan, Brandon, And Shawna Cline; great grandfather to JJ.  Barrie is survived by his brother, Donald (June) Barnes; sisters, Bevis Bird and Patricia Copeland.

A long-time Mason and Shriner, Dad dedicated himself to spreading love and joy to all, and provided tears of laughter too many times to count.  Always a volunteer in many forms, he encouraged his giving spirit to us all.

Dad’s path in life included being a successful Sales Manager with Nestle, to being a successful Entrepreneur to his favourite position “Retirement”. 

Heaven definitely earned an angel today . . . and we a guiding star.

His memory and values live on through those whose lives he touched.

In keeping with Barrie’s wishes no services will be held.  Internment was held at Yates Cemetery in Parksville.  Should you wish to mark Dad’s passing, please continue his spirit of giving by donating time or money to your favourite charity.
