Bradley “Beagle” Blakley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brad Blakley on June 9, 2026, in Nanaimo at the age of 62, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 5, 1963, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Brad was an entrepreneur, an exceptional athlete, a talented photographer and a writer with a gift for storytelling. He was also a renowned prankster whose sense of humor brought laughter and joy to those around him. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband and a fiercely loyal friend.

Brad was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joanne Christina Blakley, his father Barry Blakley, his mother Audrey Coghill, and his brother Curt Blakley.

Brad shared many cherished years with Joanne. Their relationship was built on love, companionship, and a lifetime of shared experiences. Together, they created countless memories that will remain treasured by family and friends.

Brad is survived by his brother, Gary Blakley, as well as many friends and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory and the special place he held in their lives.

His kindness, generosity, laughter, and companionship will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

As per Brad's wishes, he will be laid to rest beside Joanne. No formal service will be held.

A celebration of Brad’s life will be announced at a later date.
