Carla Lorraine KORMAN

Carla L. Korman was born March 3,1970 in Oyen, Alberta, the second daughter to Colin and Shirley Meikle.  Carla was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and passed away on December 8th, 2023 at Ty Watson House in Port Alberni, BC.

She is survived by her husband, Jason; daughter, Brandy (Kyle) Sanders;  two sons, Joseph (Joey) Ramstad and Travis Ramstad; step-daughter, Aleah Korman; grandchildren, Wade and Emily Sanders.  She is also survived by her parents, Colin and Shirley Meikle; sister, Aileen (Brett Biro); brother, Morris (Lyvi); as well as several nieces and nephews and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Wade Watson in October of 1998.

Jason and Carla’s family would like to express their deep appreciation to the medical staff at West Coast General Hospital, the Tofino Hospital, and especially to the staff and caregivers at Ty Watson House.

We would also like to thank the Cooley/Briggs families for their generous provision of housing and much much more in Port Alberni.

To Pastor Ken Lamden, Rhonda, and the people at Island Gospel Centre, that you for the many contributions made to the planning and facilitating of the service today.

Special thanks to the staff at Yates Memorial Services in Port Alberni for their kindness, compassion and guidance during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Carla’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at Island Gospel Centre at 90 McColl  Road in Bowser, BC.    The service can be viewed on Facebook at Island Gospel Centre, Bowser, BC.
