She passed away with the comfort of her family’s presence.
Caroline was born on June 28, 1959, at Hammersmith Hospital in London, England, to Russell Malcolm Hall and Ella Janette Hall (Bokker). In 1960, her family immigrated to Canada where Caroline celebrated her very first birthday aboard a train travelling from Montreal to her new home in British Columbia.
Raised in Surrey, British Columbia, alongside her sisters Linda and Joyce, Caroline attended Green Timbers Elementary School and graduated from North Surrey Senior Secondary School. Following graduation, she pursued her passion for helping others by attending hairdressing school and beginning her career at a salon in New Westminster. Over the years, her compassionate nature led her into other caring professions, first as a Veterinary Aid and later as a Care Aide. In every role, Caroline was known for her kindness, patience, and genuine concern for others. She brought comfort and dignity to countless individuals and families throughout her career as a Care Aide, which she continued until her retirement.
After the birth of her daughters, Candice and Kaylie, Caroline met the love of her life, Dave. Together they shared nearly forty years and were married on March 28, 2001. In 1997, Caroline, Dave, and the girls moved to Vancouver Island, where Caroline spent the remainder of her life. Together they created countless treasured memories in their homes in Nanaimo, Lantzville, Errington, and finally Qualicum Beach.
Caroline found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Family campouts on their acreage, concerts with loved ones, and evenings spent dancing to live music became cherished traditions. Not only was Caroline good at bringing people together, she also could bring a home together. She had a natural talent for gardening and home decorating, transforming every space she touched into a warm and welcoming home. Holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings were made special through her thoughtful attention to detail, creativity, and generous spirit. Caroline had a lifelong affection for animals, especially the many dogs who shared her home throughout the years. Their beloved dog Gordie gave her joy, great comfort and unconditional love throughout her final days.
Above all else, Caroline's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and they remained the centre of her world throughout her life.
Caroline is lovingly remembered by her husband, Dave Bloomfield; her daughters, Candice McKinnon (Aaron) and Kaylie Wallis (Mike); her stepchildren, Jessie Bloomfield (Stephanie) and Shannon Bloomfield; and her cherished grandchildren, Parker and Lydia, Renee and Gracie, Lawson and Leland, Jett and Tucker, and Adam. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Reid (Jim) and Joyce Heath (Tom), as well as many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Caroline's warmth, generosity, sense of fun, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created, the traditions she cherished, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
Details for a Celebration of Life will be shared at a later date.
