

Chris Eriksen Nov 18, 1923 - July 10, 2012Chris is survived by Inge, his loving wife of 65 years, daughters and son; Lisa Beck (Lawrence), Janet Brown (Ted), Hjordis Eriksen, Glenn Eriksen (Brenda), grandchildren; Michael Beck, Jason Beck, Megan Douglas, Sarah Brown, great-grandchildren; Alandra & Mattias Beck, Nora & Joshua Beck, Mercedes & Lauren Douglas, Benjamin & Sophie McPherson and two brothers Herluf & Egon of Denmark. Chris was born in Denmark. He married the love of his life, Inge, in 1947. They had three daughters in Denmark. In 1957 he immigrated to Regina where he worked in his electrical trade. Inge and the girls joined him in 1958. In 1966 his only son, Glenn, was born. Chris enjoyed nature and driving in the country. Camping was a favourite summer pastime. In 1972 he realized his dream of moving to BC where he got a job at a block plant in Kamloops. They moved in to a new home and poured their heart and soul into gardening. Chris had many hobbies including beekeeping, raising fancy birds, woodworking, bluebird boxes (both building and checking), Ham Radio (VE7 AOI), photography, bird watching and gardening (fabulous tomatoes come to mind). Chris and Inge enjoyed many trips exploring the countryside in their motorhome. Chris found his calling when he accepted a position as an electrical supervisor at Lornex and then Afton Mine. He loved the mining industry and with Inge spent many weekends and holidays exploring old mining sites around BC. He spent many good years of retirement in Kamloops and in 2011 he and Inge moved to Vancouver Island to be closer to family.
