Colleen Norma WEST

April 23, 1942 ~ April 10, 2015 It   is   with   great   sadness   that   we   announce   the   passing   of   our   Mom,   Grandma   and   Great-Grandma.

Colleen was predeceased by her parents, Norm and Jane, brother, William and her husband, George. She is survived by her brother, Tom (Dee), children, Rick (Barb), Lorraine (Tracy), Linda (Tom), grandchildren, Robbie (Jenna), Kyle, Jamie (Darlene), Krista (James), great grandchildren, Autumn, Lucas, Preston and Alex, as well as, her loyal pooch, Babe.

Colleen was her happiest when she had a full house. She housed and fed many boarders and her children filled her home with their many friends. To know Colleen, you knew she was in need of a revolving door. Everyone was always made to feel welcome, no matter the time of day (or night!) Colleen loved to gamble, play bingo, work in her flower beds, camp, and in their retirement years, spend winters in Yuma with George and their snowbird friends. Colleen was quite the storyteller, and was able to relay names, dates and detailed facts about any events that she had experienced in her lifetime. And gauging by the smiles and giggles at the end of every tale, her lifetime experiences involving her family and her many friends, were happy and filled with joy.

We would like to take this opportunity to give a heartfelt thank you to the Staff and Volunteers of Ty Watson House. You are truly amazing!

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015, 1pm - 4pm, at the Alberni Valley Rescue Hall, 4790 Tebo Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ty Watson House.
