Dan passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his side. He is survived by his wife, Lynne, daughter Amanda Holder, sister Cherie, nieces and nephews, step children Adam and Beth(Greg), and four grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan, Allie and Hunter.
Dan joined SVFD in 1976, ending his 35 years of service as Chief for the last 18 years. He then moved to Port Alberni and continued with fire services with ACRD for several more years.
He was an avid fly fisher, fishing in many rivers all over BC, Oregon, and Montana. We had so many adventures on those trips! He decided to make fly reels has his hobby, then business ... I hope they are being well used.
We made so many wonderful friends through both fire services and fly fishing. I will forever be grateful to all the friends who called or visited over the last couple months ... you made him smailed, and you boosted me up. I will love you forever, my best friend, my grumpy old man, Lynne.
