Dave is survived by his loving wife, Lorelei of Coombs, BC and sons, Mathew and Ashton of Calgary, Alberta and extended family of Abbotsford, BC. He was predeceased by his mother, father, a brother, step parents, as well as extended family and friends.
Dave was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan and moved to Alberta. His work years took him to several provinces as well as the United States, ending up on Vancouver Island, BC. That is how Dave came into our lives. Dave and Lorelei were married August 17, 2013. He soon adapted to farm life and hiking, and camping on Vancouver Island. He loved the wilderness and visited places on the west coast of the Island and the northern tip of Vancouver Island at every chance. He loved the time spent camping with friends in Ucluelet and always had a future camping week-end booked. His other love was his motorcycle, which, he and Lorelei both enjoyed. He so loved the trips with their motorcycle friends and each trip was the best ever!
A highlight for Dave was to skype with his son, Ashton and to talk on the telephone with his son Mathew. He always talked so highly of them both and loved them dearly.
Dave was a volunteer for Arrowsmith Search and Rescue, water division and for Ducks Unlimited Oceanside Chapter. His enthusiasm for both of these volunteer groups will be greatly missed.
Dave was extremely talented when it came to construction and house repairs and always had a job on the go.
Rest In Peace, Dave. . . . . we will always love you.
Donations to Arrowsmith Search and Rescue or the Heart and Stroke Association greatly appreciated. Private Services will be held at a later date. Thanks to everyone that has sent condolences.
