While we haven't encountered each other in several years I was as shocked to read of his death as though we'd spoken today. To me he was a most personable individual and I am so sorry to learn of his death. We  met years ago when I arrived on my own to see about singing with the EveryVoice Singers. He was the first person to speak to me after I was greeted at the door. He stayed near me throughout the evening and did so at the next few rehearsals, introducing other members to me.
He was friendly, caring, funny and a good singer. It was evident to me that he was well regarded by other members. I saw that David drew people to him - his smile, warmth, interest in them - people were always approaching him. He will be missed by his community of friends, family and casual acquaintances such as myself.
