On July 28, 2025, our beautiful Emily left us to join her loving daughter Carrie. Emily was a kind and wonderful woman who brought a unique warmth and sincerity into every conversation and interaction she had, and will be missed immensely by her family, friends, and all who had the opportunity to meet her. She was an absolute pleasure to spend time with, always upbeat and positive, and saw the best in everyone while bringing her special light into every room she entered.
Emily was dedicated and passionate in all things she approached: her marriage, motherhood, career, hobbies and her downtime with math puzzles and crosswords. She hosted innumerous dinner events which were nothing short of culinary feasts, and made every person feel special. Her accounting career extended to being the executor of estates on behalf of multiple family members, as Emily was responsible and committed to her friends and family and always went the extra mile to contribute and enrich every life she was apart of.
We will miss you dearly every day, and feel so blessed to have had you in our lives. You made everyone a better person with your kindness, and your genuine spirit will continue on, inspiring others. Thank you for the time we had with you.
Emily is survived by her loving family: husband Larry, son Curtis and daughter Cindy, and was predeceased by her daughter Carrie Samoil. As she requested, an intimate family service and cremation has taken place in Parksville, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her remembrance can be made to WECCA - ‘Carrie Samoil Memorial Fund’, 870 Denman St., Vancouver BC, V6G 2L8 (West End Community Centre Association), or the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Mental Health Association.
