Gail Kathleen Cathers

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mom, Gail Kathleen Cathers nee Cormack. After a quiet but fierce year-long battle with cancer Gail succumbed to her illness on January 13th, 2025.

Gail was born September 1st,1958 and was raised in and lived in Port Alberni her entire life. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Doris Cormack; her brothers, Garry and Gregory; and a sister, Marlane.

Gail was a loving and caring mother who is survived by her three children, Megan (Chris), David (Ashley) and Brody (Carisa) and her grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Gordon (Deb) Cormack and Guy Cormack. Gail had many extended family members and dear friends who will surely miss her quiet presence in their lives.

Gail was a private person who loved a warm, sunny day in the garden, working on carpentry projects and arts and crafts. She was a hard worker, a tough cookie and a kind soul who made an impression on all whom she encountered. She lived her life with no regrets. She loved her friends and family and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

A informal gathering to share memories will be held in the spring. More information will follow, in time.
