1912 – 2012
Jim passed away peacefully on November 24th at the age of 100. Jim will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Ruth in May 1997; he is survived by his daughter Candace and family (Jack, Andrew) and his son Jim and family (James, Brodie) his sister Dorothy and brother Percy. Jim was a devoted husband, loving brother, father and grandfather.
Jim was born in St. Mary’s, Ontario. He and his family moved to Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1953 where he helped create a sandpaper factory for Behr-Manning. Jim and his family moved to Port Alberni in 1959 where he operated an automotive garage until his retirement in 1972.
Special thanks to his grandson Andrew, who helped make his later years more comfortable and to the members of Knox Presbyterian Church.
As per Jim’s wishes, Jim will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will take place later in December.
