It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Joan on December 27, 2023. Joan is predeceased by her father Joseph Blades, mother Janet Wallan, her brother John Blades, her Son Joey Wheldon and her daughter-in-law Kim Wheldon. She is survived by her children Mike Wheldon, David Wheldon and Deanna Wheldon (Adam Cordani), her grandchildren Zachary and Camryn Wheldon and Autumn French and her great grandchild Koda Koppens (Kim Wheldon).
Joan had a career as a long-term care aide which she loved. She retired on Hornby Island where she truly loved being. She loved her community and friends. In her spare time, she loved to go swimming and kayaking. Whenever she had a chance, she loved going to the local artists and markets. Her favourite place to be was in her garden.
Thank you to all who helped her and respected her wishes to be in her home until the end. Our family is grateful for your kindness.
She will be missed by all.
