Lise passed away surrounded by the love of her family in palliative care, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion. Born on June 4, 1941, in Hull, Quebec, she later moved west with her beloved husband, William “Bill” LeSage, with whom she built a beautiful life and raised a loving family. Together, they made Parksville their home for more than 40 years, creating countless memories and forming lifelong friendships within the community.
Lise was the cherished daughter of the late Jacqueline and Gerard and was predeceased by her loving husband Bill, as well as her brothers, Michel and Richard (Francine).
She will be deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her children: Lynn (Mike), Paul (Judy), Monique, and Michelle (Earl). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kaila (Anthony), Scott (Brooke), Karissa, Kyler (Alysha), Kiera (Jake), and Matisse, and a beloved step grandmother to Alex (Taryn), Courtney (Scott), Jason, and Blair (Breanna). She was also blessed with one great grandchild and ten step great grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Lise is also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Mimi, and her best friend of more than 60 years, Marilyn (Glen), whose friendship was a treasured and enduring part of her life.
Raising four children in just four and a half years, Lise dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family. While raising her children, she also worked in retail and helped operate the family business. Together, Lise and Bill became well known in the bowling community through their years at Sunset Lanes, where they built many lasting friendships. Lise played an integral role in the family business, preparing homemade meals from scratch with the same care and love she brought to her own family table. Her recipes became favourites among family, friends, and customers, creating memories that have endured for generations.
Lise was a woman of tremendous strength and character who faced life's challenges with courage and dignity. She believed deeply in the power of laughter and found joy in bringing people together, whether around a dinner table, during a spirited game night, or through simple moments shared with family and friends. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her patience, generosity, sense of humour, and caring nature touched countless lives. She was known for her calm and gentle nature, approaching life and those around her with grace and understanding.
Known affectionately as “Auntie Lise,” she held a special place in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her love of family, her joyful spirit, and the kindness she shared so freely will never be forgotten.
Though her absence leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will live on in the family she cherished, the traditions she created, the laughter she inspired, and the many lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life for Lise will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Oceanic Ballroom at the Beach Club Resort, in Parksville. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us in celebrating a life well lived.
“Those we love do not go away; they walk beside us every day.”
