Margaret was born in Saskatoon, SK on July 5, 1940. She grew up in Saskatoon with her mother, father and brother until 1952 at which time they relocated to Richmond BC. Margaret married her husband Dennis Jack Haverstock in 1961. Margaret and Denny raised 3 children, Jackie, Jeff and Tammy in both Coquitlam and Richmond. In 1996 they moved to Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island to enjoy their retirement years. Denny passed away in 2017 and in 2020 Margaret relocated to Origin at Longwood in Nanaimo BC accompanied by her friend and roommate Birdie, a main coon cat.
Margaret completed her registered nurses training in 1961 at Saint Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. She worked at Mount Saint Joseph's for a short period of time after which she provided long term care nursing at Holy Family Hospital until retirement.
Margaret enjoyed curling, swimming, gardening, sewing and baking. During winter months Margaret and Denny would spend time in Mexico, Hawaii and Palm Desert where Tammy resides. Margaret and Denny would also travel to Terrace to spend time with Jackie, Doug and Laura, her one precious grandchild. Jeff visited the island often and when he and his partner Doug were travelling, Margaret and Denny would temporarily relocate to Surrey BC to care for their pug, Buster.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents Gertrude and Russell O'Brian and brother, Robert O'Brian. She is survived by daughter Jackie (Doug), son Jeff (Doug), daughter Tammy, and granddaughter Laura (Rhys).
