Matthew was born on October 20th 1932 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England to Nora Morrison and Andrew Lowery. He immigrated to Canada with his mother in 1948 after the war. He worked at the Plywood mill for most of his life. He met our mother Evelyn Horrocks while working at the mill. They married on October 21st 1957.
Matt loved gardening, traveling, camping, wintering in Hemet, soccer and golf. He was a man who could fix just about anything and built our family home. He rarely missed anything his kids participated in and was never afraid to tell us how good or bad we played. He was an honest, hard working, opinionated man who loved his family.
He is survived by his 4 children. Darlene and Steve Nelson, Greg and Shelly Lowery, Sheri and Kevin Mertin, Jamie Lowery and 11 grandchildren. We appreciate the employees at Berwick in Comox for their amazing care and concern for our Dad. Matt was cremated and requested no services.
