Matthew "Glen" OVINGTON

With sadness we announce the passing of Matthew Glen Ovington on June 9th, 2020. Predeceased by his father, Frank; mother, Doreen; and sister, Alma Golob. Matthew, is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Corinne; children, Dan (Darren) of Salt Spring Island, Crystal (Lee) of Whiskey Creek, and Elizabeth of Hilliers; grandchildren, Braydon, Katie, Maci, and Matthew; siblings, Maretta Phillips (Larry) of Abbotsford, BC; brother-in-law, Leo Golob of Parksville; David Ovington (Norma) of Barrier, BC; Wendy Allenby of Parksville; Shane Ovington (Maurice) of Parksville; Norman Ovington (Lori) of Parksville; Mary Maccusker (Larry) of Qualicum Bay; Randy Ovington (Pauline) of Coombs; brother-in-law, Tim Desmarais of Hilliers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Matthew, or better known as “Glen” to his family and friends, was always the first person to volunteer whenever help was needed. He was the type of person who loved hearing the laughter of kids, and especially his own grandkids. Glen enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, playing poker, and going to the casino! He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 2020 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at 3195 Grafton Avenue.
