It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mickey Morgan.

Born June 28, 1942, Mickey passed away peacefully on April 16, 2015 at Ty Watson House in Port Alberni, BC with his family by his side after a courageous seven month battle with Stage 4 breast cancer.

Born in Port Alberni, BC, Mickey is survived and will be deeply missed by wife of 51 years Bonnie, sons Scott (Lisa), Bradley (Leslie) and brother Lawrence (Larry). Predeceased by his father Percy, mother Eileen, brother James (Jimmy) and sister Pamela.

Mickey worked in the forest industry for 42 years and was active in fishing, bowling, horseshoes and the Kinsmen Club. A proud accomplishment for Mickey was winning the Port Alberni Salmon Festival.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Greg dePape, and the staff of West Coast General Hospital and Ty Watson House for their compassionate care of Mickey.

A public burial will take place on Tuesday, April 21 at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery, 5360 Josephine Street. The funeral procession will gather at 10:15 am at Yates Funeral Service, 4470 Gertrude Street. A celebration and sharing of stories of Mickey’s life will follow and be held at Yates Reception Centre, 4470 Gertrude Street at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ty Watson House.
