Nancy Ilfra Marjorie Hutchison

It is with love and gratitude that the family of Nancy Ilfra Marjory Hutchison announce her passing. Nancy was born on April 2, 1930 and passed away August 30, 2025 at the age of 95. She lived a long, full life dedicated to family, community and service.

Nan was predeceased by her husband, Donald Hutchison, in 2007, after sharing 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a family that was always at the heart of Nan’s life. She leaves behind her children Rick (Jeanne) Hutchison, Lynn Martin, and Dale (Linda) Hutchison, her nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness and strength will continue through them all.

Nan was deeply committed to her community. She was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, where she dedicated 35 years of service. In around 1984 recognizing a need for caregiver support, she co-founded the District 69 Stroke Club, now known as Oceanside Stroke Recovery, which continues to provide care and connection to this day. She was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49 and proudly involved with the Errington Fire Department.

Nan will be remembered for her generosity, resilience and devotion to both her family and community. She touched countless lives and leaves behind a remarkable legacy of compassion and service.

The family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers and support staff who looked after her in her final years at Trillium Lodge, you are truly an amazing group of people who we know loved her.
