Rick left us for his “forever fishing trip” on August 13, 2013. Left behind are his wife of 39 years, Shirley; daughter, Zainna Lewis; grandson, Jacob Lewis; sister, Dorothy (Michael) Barnett; sister-in-law, Christa (Arnie) Williams; adored mother-in-law, Elsie Schummer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick was a resident of Trillium Lodge for his last year and heartfelt thanks go out to the staff who provided tender care and treated him like family.
Rick had a kind and generous heart, with a smile and spirit to match. At his request, there will be no service. His cremains will be scattered over his treasured fishing spots at a later date, in keeping with his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, please honour Rick’s memory by giving the gift of your time, friendship, and kindness to a loved one or someone in need.
Good luck catching the big ones, honey, but you catch’em – you clean’em.
