It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald (Ron) Douglas Crosbie announces his passing on June 11, 2026, at the age of 70.
Ron was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In his youth, Ron attended Ross Elementary School and Peacock Collegiate, where he excelled as a talented athlete with a passion for football, basketball, and track and field. In his early twenties, he worked locally at Canada Packers, later following up with his employment at SaskFerco before eventually moving out west.
In 2001, Ron relocated to Vancouver Island, where he spent his remaining 25 years. He felt truly at home on the Island, finding great peace and joy in the beauty of the West Coast, the ocean, the trees, the scenic views, and the beaches. While living there, he found a great sense of belonging with Dave and Jennifer Munro’s family.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Douglas Crosbie and Dolores Buchanan. He leaves behind a large family legacy, including his four children and their families, whom he shared with Audrey Koot: Laurelle (Casey) Bellows, grandsons Bryce (Lindsay) Crosbie with great-grandson Benson, and Bohden Bellows (Hailey); Kara (Trevor) Crosbie, and granddaughter Ella; Matthew (Bri) Crosbie, and grandchildren Kayden, Jett, and Indie; Aaron (Allison) Crosbie, and grandchildren Emmerson, Aria, and Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (Stuart) Holtan, and his niece, Kali.
