Simone (Hallgarth) Gallant

1940 - 2015

After a long battle with lung and heart disease, it is with sadness that the family of Simone Gallant (Hallgarth) announce her passing on November 22, 2015 at WCGH with her loving family by her side.

Predeceased by her parents, daughter Christine and sister Lina, Simone is survived by children Mona (Larry), Clint, Ken, Denise, and Brian (Rhonda); grandchildren Ken, Catherine, Catrina, Michelle, Nicole, Celene, James, Kirsten, Cole, Carson, Ryan and Kyle; great grandchildren Cadence, Jaydon, Quinten, Danika, Mason, Isla and Lily; sisters Murielle (Andre), Lillian (Heinz) and brother Claude (Betty) Ken Hallgarth, numerous family and friends.  

Simone was born June 2, 1940 in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario; moving to Port Alberni with her family when she was 12.  After raising her children, she managed the Mohawk Gas Station and later retired from Rainbow Gardens.  Simone enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She liked Bingo and travelling to Reno.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 – 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church – 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni, Father Stephen officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Simone’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
