Cliff passed in peace after a brave battle with complex health issues. He is survived by his wife, Nell Bowles; son, Robert Bowles (Janet; daughters, Pearl Drummond, Leonea Donovan, Joy Andreassen, and Gaye Hawkes (Brian), step-children, Shelly Hedden, Milynne Lang (Fred), Donna Jager (Ken), and Lance Jager; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Cliff had a huge extended family and friends.
Whether a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, pops, grandpa, in-law, out-law, step, acquaintance, or best friend, he was first and foremost a heavy duty mechanic who had a special talent for making forestry and road-building equipment rumble.
His sports were salmon-fishing, boating, and camping. His work took him around the world from the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island, and BC Interior to Southeast Asia. We will miss his big smile.
Big thanks to the kind staff at Trillium Lodge Hospice in Parksville and the extensive Vancouver Island medical professionals who cared.
At his request, there will be no Memorial Service. Please make a donation to a charity that supports research for diabetes, blood cancer, or heart disease.
