Don was a gentle soul that loved and cared for his mother until she walked with Christ. We were the 4 musketeers once running through fields and riding the flying Jenny! These were our memories of Dr Suess Books and treehouses and wild donkey rides! We were young once and free and these were our memories!

To the Bowman Family,

We will miss Don so much in Rockport. What a great friend and neighbor he was. Always so happy. As soon as we would drive up, he would be outside to greet us with a smile and a funny story of some kind. Our annual meetings will never be the same without his presence. What a great guy! He loved everyone and all animals. We were blessed to have known him. Our deepest sympathy to all of you.

Don aka " Bono" was like my older brother I never had. Such a beautiful heart and soul!!! Don was a very generous man and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. A big dog lover who could pretty much talk to any dog He met. Don will be truly missed. I love you Bobo!!

Reading all these messages makes me reminese about Pine Valley. That was an amazing neighborhood, it was like a migration of new families coming together to create everlasting memories. What I remembered most about the Bowman's is the whole family loved EVERYONE unconditionally, which is something we need so much more of now. I also believe that Donny's mom worked at Brookline Elementary as a cashier in the cafeteria...if it wasn't her it was another mom angel I will never forget. Love you Donny, because of you I had alot more laughs and smiles. And god bless you for the big heart you had for the animals.

As the last surviving member of the three DB's. I have an impossible act to follow. We grew up together, Don Bowman David Bates and me Darrell Bird. From kindergarden and little league through high school the three DBs. When i think of Don I laugh. Alot. He was here on earth to help us laugh at ourselves. Never a harsh word for anyone only love. From a selfish point of view this wasn't the time for him to leave our world. We surely need love and laughs now more than ever. I will forever remember Don with Mark Glaze picking me up each morning for school in Don's car. What I now affectionly call the Cheech and Chong mobile. The door would open smoke would bellow out, I would get in then wake up in second period. Miss you brother! Heaven just became a happier place.

My heart is aching to hear this news. Donny was such a wonderful, fun loving, crazy guy. All I can think about are the wonderful memories I get to hold on to growing up and running the streets of Pine Valley. What a special gift that was. There is a bond of friends from Pine Valley that will never be broken! Not a lot of people have the opportunity to have that in there lifetime. Donny always held a special place in my heart and always seem to come and go out of my life. Seem like we were always running into each other no matter how long it had been! After my husband passed away we would occasionally talk. We were both taking care of elderly parents and we would often talk and just laugh and compare stories. He was Donny, and could always bring a smile to your face. I know you had your struggles but always had a big heart to share. You earned your wings, now go enjoy the next journey God has planned for you.

Much love,

Alison “Little Al” Goerlich

I couldn’t have asked for a better friend to grow up with. From kindergarten to high school graduation you were always there for me. I have so many great memories of our time growing up together. Whether just hanging out or going to baseball games, working at the Astrodome, cruising in the Monte Carlo, going to the beach with the neighborhood gang, the list goes on. May you rest in eternal piece.
