He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis, and Betty Kello and youngest brother Wes Kello. Larry is survived by his loving children Susan Kello, William Kello, Karen Goodson, and her husband Jeremy and his 3 cherished grandchildren, Kaylee Tarlton, Austin Tarlton and Bailey Kello. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Williams and brother Doug Kello and wife Jan and multiple other beloved friends & family members.
Larry grew up in Pasadena TX, graduated from Sam Rayburn high school & went on to join the U.S. Navy in 1969, serving in Vietnam on the U.S.S. Point Defiance where he earned a National Defense Service Medal & a Vietnam Service Medal with bronze stars. He then joined the Pasadena Police Academy in 1972 & served in law enforcement for 37 years.
Larry was an adventurous spirit, he loved his toys, including his 1964 yellow Mustang & later in life his Harley Motorcycles & red Corvette. He loved playing softball & watching his grandkids play sports. He enjoyed fishing & playing cards of all sorts. Larry will be so greatly missed by many, especially those that called him Larry Boy, Dad & Pawpaw.
In lieu of flowers, Larry's family is asking that a donation be made in his honor to the Pasadena Police Department or American Cancer Society.
A visitation for Lawrence will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Goodson, Austin Tarlton, Steve Williams, Jeffrey Kello, Nathan Kello and Curtis Blackman.
