

Mary Ann Melville (Scott) passed away peacefully on April 28th,2025 in Simpsonville, SC, at the age of 82. Born on April 18th,1943, in Riverside, California, Mary Ann lived a life of faith, and deep devotion to those around her.
Mary Ann accepted Christ as her Savior, a decision that became a guiding light throughout her life. Her unwavering faith provided strength during both joyful and challenging times. For the past 10 years, Mary Ann bravely faced trials of Alzheimer’s disease with grace and determination. Despite the difficulties it brought, she continued to live fully and meaningfully, embodying courage and perseverance until the very end.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father Wade Durham Scott; mother Mary Liberatore; brother’s Wade and Wayne Scott; son Anthony Wade Minter and husband; Robert Leon Melville.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: son Danny Minter of Magnolia, Texas; daughter Cheryl Ann Holstein (Richard) of Rye,Texas; stepdaughter, Laura Cagle of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Mary Ann also leaves behind a devoted brother, Elbert Scott (Louise) of Plant City, Florida; and sister Patsy Rose (Ed) of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren Andy Minter (Stefanie) of League City,Texas; Dusty Dobbs of Somerville,Texas; Chane Haynie of Rye,Texas; Tiffany and Brittany Minter of Magnolia,Texas; Garrett Price of Lake Charles,Louisiana; great-grandchildren Brooklynn Dobbs and Drew Minter; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
A woman of many passions, Mary Ann found joy in gardening and crafting. Her creativity was matched only by her love for music and dancing-especially Cajun music. As a longtime member of both the Moose Lodge and the Cajun Music Association, she found community among others who shared her enthusiasm for rhythm and fellowship. Church was another cornerstone in Mary Ann’s life. She delighted in attending services regularly and drew strength from her spiritual community.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, May 6th, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pasadena Funeral Home, 2203 Pasadena Blvd. Pasadena, Texas 77502 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 11:00 am at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, Texas 77505
