On September 13th, it was God’s pleasure to take Bob Kovach home to heaven. John 3:16 was Bob’s favorite scripture. Not only did he believe it, he lived it. Even in the latter stages of his disease, when he couldn’t even remember the names of his children, he would hum the tunes of hymns. His faith was that deep-seated. Next to his love of God was the love for his family—his wife Carol of 58 years, his sons Robert and John and their wives and his grandchildren. Not only did he love them, he was proud of them.
Bob was transferred from Mississippi to Texas in his profession of supervising engineer with General Motors. After 36 years, he retired to enjoy travel and his many hobbies: dancing, camping, canoeing, and photography to name a few. His most treasured pastime was riding his prized Andalusian horse Dulcinea. In Texas he joined the men’s sector of the Alpha Delta Kappa Association, an educational philanthropic organization, in which he became president.
Bob lived life to the fullest, centered around his faith and his family. To him, it was not about the number of breaths God gave him, but how he used the breaths he took.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Kovach, brother John (Jack) Kovach and sister-in-law Sandra Kovach.
Survivors are his wife Carol, sons Robert and wife Suezan, Houston, John and wife Diana, Nuremberg, Germany, and grandchildren Andrew, Katherine, Aden and Sofia; brother Frank and wife Mary, Chandler, Arizona, and sisters-in-law Bonnie Davis, Madison, Ohio and Ruth Juhasz, El Paso, Texas.
