

Annie Ruth Meyer (Criddle) was born in Houston, Mississippi to the late Jake and late Annie Criddle on May 2nd, 1933. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 16, 2015. She was preceded in death by her sister Maylene Griffin, her brother John Criddle, her son William “Macky” Smith, and her granddaughter Terra Koester Hurt. Ruth took great pride working as a hair stylist for over 40 years, before retiring to care for her mother. Family always seemed to come first to Ruth. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as watching her soaps, going out to eat Mexican food and catching up with family and friends on Facebook. She is survived by her four children: Kathy Croom, her husband Mike Croom; Linda Koester, her husband Lester “Buddy” Koester; Terry Smith; Wayne Smith, his wife Mary Smith; sister: Faye Black and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ruth was loved by her family and friends and will be missed. The family will receive friends for visitation at Pasadena Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Graveside service will be held on Saturday November 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at Brookside Memorial Park.
