I just recently heard about Darlene passing. I am so sorry, Ron for your loss. I was working at the Mid State Bank in Atascadero when she moved to Atascadero and became our new Operations Officer in the late 1970’s. We were all intimidated about getting a new boss from the big city until we met Darlene. She was the sweetest most cheerful boss. Many years later I again worked for her at the Paso Robles Mid State Bank and in the last few years enjoyed running into her at Target or the grocery store , with her grandchildren in tow.  She is someone that I have known for 40 + years  and am so saddened to learn of her passing. Thinking of you Ron and praying for you and your family . 

So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with Darlene at the bank. Her optimism was inspirational. Everyone, coworkers and customers alike, loved her. She was a gem that will be greatly missed. God bless.

Julian Family: I've known Darlene for a few years..first from Assembly of God Church in Atascadero. She & Ron were in the kitchen cooking or baking (loved the butter cookies).
Then she was working at Mid State Bank, Rabobank & Mechanics Bank of which my husband Dale & Shirley banked at all three. After my husband passed 3 years ago, she would always ask how  I was doing. How was my family. we would talk about children & grandchildren.  I was shocked & saddened to learn she had passed so quickly, She always was an encourager and  kind.

I only knew Darlene by my being a bank client for over 20 something yrs. She  did help me out when I was involved in a car accident in front of the then Mid State Bank by calling the police n letting me sit inside until help came.  The bank had already closed for the day
She was a friendly sweet lady and was one of two ladies that I felt comfortable going to for help and getting the correct answers. One lady retired n Darlene was my go to person.  
I’m so sorry for her husband and grandchildren. Your wife n Grandmother was a gem with a heart of gold. 
She will be missed by many. She will continue to have a special place in my heart and I consider myself lucky to have known her.
