Lawrence “Larry” Fisher, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026. He was born on August 25, 1942, in Wymore, Nebraska, and lived the last 52 years of his life in Paso Robles, California, where he built a life defined by devotion, discipline, and deep love for his family.
Larry was a steadfast, dependable, and hardworking man whose greatest pride was being an excellent provider for his family.
With a strong sense of responsibility and quiet determination, he devoted himself fully to the care and well-being of those he loved.
Those around him would grow to know he was protective, committed, and unwavering in his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and his role in the community.
Larry served his country as a Military Police officer in the United States Army until June 1963. A role that reflected his natural sense of order, duty, and protection.
He carried this same standard of excellence into his professional life where he worked at the California Highway Patrol from November 6, 1967, to March 27, 1986. He deeply loved his work with the Highway Patrol. He took great pride in his service, wearing the uniform with integrity, courage, and professionalism.
After the highway patrol, Larry worked for Safeway & Albertsons for a short time until he reached retirement and could spend more of his time with family.
While Larry was known for his firm expectations and structured way of life, those closest to him knew his heart was also deeply loving, loyal, and generous. He loved his family fiercely and expressed that love through provision, presence, and the many ways he showed up for them throughout the years.
One of the family’s most cherished traditions was their time together at the California coast. Nearly every weekend, Larry took his family to the beach—his favorite place—where he enjoyed scuba diving and being at the ocean. Those days were filled with fresh air, adventure, and togetherness, creating treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Juana Fisher; his children, Rhonda (Cy), Dena, and Christopher (Kristi); his grandchildren, Natalie (Brian), Jaemi (Stephen), Keoni, Kai Lei, and Makana; and his great-grandchildren, Bishop, Cylas, Logan, Olivia, and Sage. He is also survived by his sister, Donna (Bob).
Larry was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, mother, and his nephew.
A service to honor and celebrate Larry’s life will be held on March 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Mission San Miguel.
In honor of Larry’s lifelong love for dogs, the family welcomes memorial contributions to Woods Humane Society.
Larry Fisher will be remembered as a strong, principled, devoted, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—a man who lived with integrity, provided with dedication, and loved with steadfast Strength.
