It is with the deepest sorrow and much love that our family mourns the loss of Steven (Steve) Forrester, who peacefully left us to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of December 17, 2024, at the age of 71.
Steve was born in Long Beach, California to Ronald “Ron” and Bonnie Alajean “Jean” Forrester on April 25, 1953. His family ran a successful plumbing company, Forrester Plumbing, in San Pedro through his childhood years. In 1975 Steve married the love of his life, Sheryl Kimble, and welcomed two beautiful children while living in Lomita, CA. In 1984, Steve and Sheryl moved their family to Paso Robles, where they would be blessed with their third beautiful child to complete their family. Steve was a licensed plumber and owned and operated Forrester Appliance Repair in the 1990’s. He also worked with the Paso Robles School District, the Paso Robles Inn and most recently at Blake’s Hardware.
Those who knew and loved Steve would tell you that he was a very kind and gentle man who always put his family first. His favorite ways to spend time were with family and friends. He enjoyed BBQing and watching football....GO RAMS! He was an avid NHRA fan and spent a lot of time watching racing on TV as well as live at the track. Steve was a man of God, and he deeply loved his country.
Steve was the beloved husband of 50 years to Sheryl, an incredible father to Jill Ponti, Jason Forrester and Jenna Malone, and the loving and proud Papa to Aiden and Reese Ponti. Steve is survived by his immediate family, his favorite Uncle Ron Tucker (Amelia), stepmother Rima Grikavicious, and stepsister Maddy Grikavicious. Steve is also loved by many brothers and sisters in law, sons in law, and nieces and nephews whose favorite place to spend time was at Uncle Steve and Auntie Sheryl’s house.
Preceding Steve in death were his parents, Ron Forrester and Jean Grikavicious, stepfather John Grikavicous, stepbrother Vytas Grikavicious and his father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Shirley Kimble.
Steve’s passion for his country drew him to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, formed after 9/11 and benefiting our most severely injured veterans and first responders, to which he and Sheryl donate. His family would be honored if those who knew and loved him would like to make a donation to the foundation in his name.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
- Matthew 5:8.
