Damian Nathanial Bailey (Ribbing)

26 September , 200124 August , 2019

Damian Nathanial Bailey (Ribbing), 17 of Pataskala passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 24th, 2019. Damian was born on September 26th, 2001 in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Licking Heights High School and C-TEC where he was studying to become a welder. Damian spent much of his time outdoors, farming, camping, fishing, bonfires, shooting his guns and four-wheeling. He loved every second he was with his friends and family, no matter the occasion. His smile was infectious and lit up every room he walked into. His laughter was contagious, especially with those witty responses or one liners. Damian was the most caring, loving, thoughtful, generous and pure individual you could have met. He was one of the hardest working people you’d know. He loved all of the people he worked with and loved the jobs he had. He was a rare and precious soul with a heart of gold that was taken from us far too soon. The impact he had on the lives of everyone who knew him will be forever felt and forever missed. Damian is survived by his parents, Melissa Bailey (Ribbing) and Jonathan Ribbing; siblings, Kaleb and Jadyn Ribbing; grandparents, Susan Bailey, and Steven and Kay Ribbing; great-grandparents, Dorothy Bailey and Bonnie Nash; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandpa, Howard Bailey; great-grandpa, John Ribbing; great-grandma, Dorothy Ribbing; great-grandpa, Charles Nash; great-great grandma, Pearl Bailey; and uncle, Matthew Ribbing. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 31st, 2019 at 10AM at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME (289 S. Main St. Pataskala, OH 43062). Burial is to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, OH. Friends and family may visit on Friday from 1PM to 6PM at the FUNERAL HOME. Following services on Saturday, the family will be having a celebration of life. The location will be announced after services.

Damian never failed to put a smile on any of our faces. Always came into lunch and Had a 2 liter of MTN dew and his bread, never got tired of it , except when pizza was involved. It seemed like he never had a bad day, and Loved that truck. He always would ask me “how my lifted minivan was, and “ are you ready to get a real American truck yet”. I’m glad I got to know him for the time I did, wish I could have one more lunchtime conversation with him.

For those who didn't know him I am sorry for you. Damian worked for me about 2 years. He never missed a day and was always the first to show up. Even on the hottest days of the summer he would show up with a smile on his face. He never had a bad day and even if he did he didn't show it. I have met a lot of people in my life but there was something about this kid that was different. I got to talk to him at 11pm the night before the accident and I had a brief conversation with him but the best part was at the end of that text he told me he loved me. Even though we weren't family I felt as if we were. I am 42 years old and this 17 year old young man made me wish I was like him in some ways. I could go on and on about him but if I did I would have to write a book. Damian my only regret is I didn't say I Love you back that night. So I will say it now I LOVE YOU TO.
Love Jay

I met Damian a few months back, he worked for my brother in law, and was good friends with my son, daughter and her boyfriend, along with my nieces and nephews. Damian was a very respectful young man. Damian will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Damian’s family, friends, all his co workers, along with everyone that had the pleasure of knowing such a sweet caring young man!

Johnny, Melissa, Caleb, and Jadyn your all in our hearts in prayer. No words can we express what your going through. Damian was such a warm loving young man with a heart of gold. We’ll always remember the fun time they had at our home and how he helped Uncle Duane at Matthew’s funeral. He is with his uncle Matt and all his grandparents in Heaven and he will be watching over you all. Cardinals and butterflies when you see them, it’s a sign he’s near to you. Be strong and know God is your comforter. We love you all and I so much wish we could be there, but know we are sending you hugs and prayers to you. God bless you with Gods loving arms. He will be truly missed by so many. Fly high Damian and may God rest your beautiful soul.🙏🙅😘❤️👼 Aunt Karen & Uncle Duane

Damian was the best person to go to for advice, for laughter, and to have a good time . I’ll never forget the rides to school jamming out to good ole country music. I’ll never forget the memories we all created such as going out to eat at ziggys to Pataskala Fireworks. You’ll forever be missed & loved.

He was always at our house after work to hangout and he always found time to play with my son, and he was always so kind and good with him when they would play. He was such a kind good hearted person who will be missed dearly ❤️

This is so hard. Melissa, Jon, Kaleb and Jayden my heart aches for you. Damian and My son Howie have been friends for years. They played little league baseball together, went to school together, were neighbors and then went to ctec together to learn to be welders. Damian was such a beautiful person, inside and out. So kind and thoughtful! Always willing to lend a hand. We miss him so much but we are finding comfort in one thing. We find comfort in knowing that Damian is in heaven and that we will see him again. I imagine heaven has amazing four wheelers and I’m certain that you are happy. I pray that many will come to know Jesus through this tragedy. From the ashes of despair will come a beautiful hope. Sending lots of prayer and hugs. We love you.
