Kim embraced life with passion and confidence. Her intelligence and stubbornness enabled her to be great at nearly anything she tried. If she did not know how to do something, she would persist until she mastered each new skill. She loved to garden, fish, camp, bake, cook gourmet meals, care for her loved ones and her beloved rescue kitties. Kimberly was also a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and cheered voraciously for the Buckeyes.
Kaleb, her second son and youngest child remembers the times when Kim provided unwavering support when he suffered a broken neck playing football. She was always present at his childhood events and was known to be the loudest and proudest in the room or in the crowd. Through numerous broken bones and broken rules, she never wavered. She was his biggest cheerleader, but also made sure that she taught him right from wrong and encouraged him to understand and show emotions. She taught devout integrity and was dedicated to raise a good man.
She was very close with her brother Tim and he remembers her as being steadfast and strong and says how intensely she loved her family. Kim’s family and grandkids loved her very much regardless of absence or distance. She was known expose her grandkids everything from church, hunting lighting bugs and amazing meals (followed by ice cream of course).
Kimberly’s friends and family describe her as selfless, proud, a Christian, smart, stubborn, loyal, nurturing and a powerhouse of a woman.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother Gerdine Blake-Shaffner, brother Christopher Ellsworth, father Galen Ellsworth, step father Ralph Shaffner, loving pets and best friends Indy and Emmie. She is survived by Ian McPherson (son), Kaleb Ervin (son), Tim Ellsworth (brother), Pamela Ellsworth (sister), grandsons Brodie Sykes, Leighton Ervin, Braedon McPherson, granddaughter Gwen Hill-McPherson, and many cousins and extended Blake family.
