Lance hired me on the Railroad in Newark, Ohio and was my father’s boss as well. My father passed in 2010 and Lance came to Zanesville to the visitation. I was so glad to see him there. He was a true leader and very compassionate. It’s tough to think of what all he went through in his life. God bless him. He is in heaven for sure!

Lance was a kind human with a generous soul. Words cannot convey the gratitude I have for Lance Johnston. He saved me…by mentoring me, sharing with me and crying with me through the tragedy of bearing witness to our children passing away. Blessed to have known him and I can only hope to do my best to emulate him. Peace and love my dear friend and thank you times infinity ♾ 


R.i.P Lance .just found out about your passing .you are now with your family and with all of our batten babies .you really was there all the time for them and their families you will be missed greatly 
I for one will never forget how you were here for our Jessie .I can not have thanked you enough.God has gain a very special person to look after his Angel's. Will miss you and never forget you 

On behalf of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Ohio State, it is saddening to learn of Lance's passing. Having gotten to know him personally through my role in the Office of Advancement, I can say that Lance was a friend of CFAES, a friend of the School of Environment and Natural Resources, and a friend of mine. I will miss our touch base phone calls and lunchtime chats.

On behalf of the Ohio State University College of Nursing, we are sad to learn of Lance's passing.  His generosity and support of our future healthcare providers will live on through his legacy.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those close to him. 

Lance will be remembered and missed by so many.  No matter how busy Lance was he always had time for everyone and I have no idea how he did that...just magic I guess.  From this Batten family in Scotland our condolences to family and friends. Goodbye my dear friend and thank you.
