Mark Steven Wilfong

Mark Steven Wilfong went home to be with his Lord and Savior, October 11th, 2023. Mark was born on March 27th, 1944, in Fremont, Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Northern University and his masters from Bowling Green University. Mark started his career as a high-school history teacher and then became a guidance counselor, retiring from that position in 1998. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering on his Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, and Detroit Lions. Mark was active in the choir at Jersey Baptist Church and was a prayer warrior for his family, church, community, and nation.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Wilfong, Annie (Fred) Feaver and his first wife Cheryl. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Carol and their four children Paul (Tara) Wilfong, Jason Wilfong, Sarah (Jeff) Widrig, stepson Tony (Paula) Oriti, and his sister Judy (Phil) Haskell. His six grandchildren, Jacob and Gabrielle Wilfong, Abigail and Lucia Widrig, and Isabella and Dominic Oriti were his complete joy and being a grandfather was his favorite role. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. We are heart-broken that he is no longer here on earth but are celebrating his arrival in Heaven.

Visitation hours will be on Thursday October 26th,2023 10 to 11 am at Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Rd SW, New Albany, OH 43054. with the funeral service immediately following the time of visitation.
