William Leroy Bolster, 89, of Gahanna, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 30, 1927 in Columbus, OH, a son to the late Marie Racle. William was a graduate of Saint Charles Preparatory School and attended The University of Dayton. He was a WWII veteran in the Navy and a member of the VFW. William loved golf, the Cincinnati Reds and was a long time member at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving children, Chris Bolster and Diane (James) Hendren; grandchildren, Nicole Bolster, Meghan (Ryan) Reid and James Reid; great-grandchildren, Asher and Adalyn Reid; siblings, Joann Engel, Ronald Racle, Duane Racle and Maryann Delcol and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, William is also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bolster. Friends may call from 11-12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Father Daniel Swartz officiating. Interment will be at Mifflin Cemetery.
