Barbara Jo Dye was born on January 20, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Gladys and Zigmunt Kopczynski. A 1968 graduate of Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Illinois, and a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, she had a lifelong love of learning.
After relocating to Peachtree City, Georgia, in 1989, Barbara spent two decades working as a paraprofessional at Peachtree City Elementary, Kedron Elementary, and Crabapple Lane Elementary. She faithfully served as “Cookie Mom” for local Girl Scout Troop #154 and was a devoted member of her church home, First Baptist Church of Tyrone.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jack Dye; her children, Julie (Chadd) Allen, Adam Dye and Kelly Crockett; her grandchildren, Hayley, Analise, Scarlett and Jack; and her best friend of 70 years, Bonnie (Ralph) Cossiboon.
Barbara’s family takes comfort in knowing the Lord welcomed her with open arms to streets of gold, where she is now fully healed and whole.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Tyrone. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor to any organization supporting Parkinson’s disease research are greatly appreciated.
