

He was born to the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Robinson) Marshall on February 21, 1948 in Atlanta, GA.
Ed was a decorated US Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad in Atlanta.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Richard A. Robinson, Gerald S. Marshall, Alton L. Marshall, and Allen “Butch” Marshall.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Jacquelyn L. W. Marshall; daughter, Nikki M. Marshall; son, Brandan L. Marshall; daughter, Megan E. Andrews; son-in-law, Olajauwon A. Andrews; God-son, Prentice R. Braswell;; God-Daughter, Ebony Washington; grandchildren, Olajauwon “Deuce” A. Andrews II, Jeffrey Rhodes, Jr., Jordyn C. Rhodes, and Jonah B. Rhodes; and sisters, Joan Robinson Ellis, Barbara Robinson Miles, and Juanita “Pam” Marshall Clonts.
Sonny will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all that knew him.
A going home memorial service will be held in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, with military honors, on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:00pm. There will be a visitation from 12:30pm-1:00pm for family and friends.
