

Heriberto Joaquin Payan, 85, of Peachtree City, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in the Dominican Republic on January 21, 1940, to Chiquitin Payan and Marina Milan.
Heriberto was a talented musician who played the saxophone, flute, and clarinet. He played for 12 years in the National Symphonic Orchestra in the Dominican Republic. He was a choir director, band director, music teacher, piano tuner who owned his own repair shop, and faithful church orchestra musician. He faithfully led his family to the Lord for more than 50 years of his life. He loved his Savior and served him with his musical talent until his battle with cancer didn’t allow him to continue.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Yuin Payan; and the mother of his children, Miriam Lavinia Payan.
He is survived by his loving wife Galia A. Payan; his sons, Hans H. Payan, Jose De Pena, and David Bubel; his daughters, Millie De Pena, Keilyn Bubel, and Jeannie Perez; his grandchildren, Meylin De Pena, Emily Lorincz, Leslie De Pena, Priscilla Perez, Austin Payan, and Logan Bubel; his sister, Sanny Payan, and his beloved stepmother, Criolla Payan.
Heriberto leaves behind a legacy as a Godly devoted, and loving husband, dad, and grandfather. He was admired and loved deeply. His family will miss him for many things but, mostly for his great sense of humor, his gentle smile, and warm hugs. He is now resting peacefully in the presence of his Lord and Savior whom he served!
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 1:30pm. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 1:00pm - 1:30pm.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, GA 30269 following the service.
