Janice Marie Wagner, 84, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021 from pancreatitis. Daughter of John and Marie Valentino, Janice grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She was on the honor roll, merit roll, student council and a member of Alpha Beta Alpha. Her involvement in the Spanish Club eventually led to her studying at the University of Madrid. She enjoyed horseback riding, chorus and drama. Teachers and classmates spoke highly of her. She graduated Cum Laude from Lake Erie College, with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught for the Findlay Board of Education and her 5th graders honored her to reign as princess of the Fort Findlay Sesquicentennial (a seat on the city’s Queen Court for its 150th Jubilee). She was active in the community serving as president and other officer positions of several organizations such as the Lake Erie Alumna Association, Tanglewood Woman’s Club & St Joan of Arc Woman’s Club. She published a cookbook set up bridge tournaments and fashion shows. She volunteered at church with faith formation, Stephens Ministry and Circle of Friends. Dancing, aqua class, game day, book club and lunch bunch brought her great joy.
As a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother (known affectionately to many as Grandice), she attended hundreds of sporting events, school concerts and plays: a true supporter, fan and cheerleader. She lived a life reflecting the importance of God, family and friendships. She would light up the room with her sparkling eyes, dazzling smile, youthful energy; a classy lady with a loving heart who had a way of lifting one’s spirit.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Tamara Kasbo and David; son, Mark and Maria; grandsons, Dylan and Kyle Crocker, Nicholas and Douglas Wagner; brother, Kent Valentino and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
