Shirley was a ten-year resident of Somerby of Peachtree City and attended First Baptist Church of Senoia until her health no longer allowed. Before that, she was a long-time resident of Warner Robins and Centerville and member of Central Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir for many years and faithfully attended the Senior Adult Sunday School class with many of her dear friends.
Shirley was born on December 1st, 1935, to Geneva and Dwight Moody in Shelby, NC. She was married for 66 years, until his death, to Colonel (Ret) Bobby G. Graham, an Air Force Command pilot, and a Squadron, Group, and Base Commander. She was a staffer for U.S. Congressman Richard Ray. As a wife, mother, and employee, she served alongside Bobby participating in or running many clubs and activities, managing volunteer projects, and hosting social events. She held leadership positions in the Women of the Chapel, Officer Wives’ Club, scouting, and the Civitan Club. She and Bobby were also foster parents for a number of children with difficult family circumstances.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Graham; her son, Kenneth Graham; her sister, Geraldine Moody Simpson; and by her parents, Geneva and Dwight Moody.
She leaves behind many relatives and friends: Her sons, Jeff and Barry Graham; and her precious daughters-in-law: Kim (Jeff) and Alicia (Barry) Graham. Four grandchildren survive her, Bradley and Robert (Brittany) Graham, Elizabeth (Alex) Everett, and Melissa (Sean) Nasiff; and five great-grandchildren, Violet, Lily, and Danny Graham, and Andrew and Milo Everett.
Survivors also include her extended family from both the Moody and Graham sides. Moody nieces and nephews, Renae Lathrop, Jennifer Collette, and Rod Fisher. When she married into the Graham Clan, she eagerly claimed them all as her family and loved being with them all. Many have passed on now: Bobby’s siblings Ava and her husband Max, Don, Densil, and Dellas Graham; nephew, Jerry (Christine) Walker; and nieces, Brenda Graham and Sherri (Eddie) Cupples. One of Bobby’s brothers is still living, Larry Graham (Jean). All her Graham sisters-in-law are still living, Ann Graham (Don), Gail Graham (Densil), and June Graham (Dellas). She is also survived by a number of Graham nieces and nephews; grandnieces; and grandnephews.
Shirley lived a long and fruitful life, was rescued from death by the Lord many times before finally passing, and she leaves an enduring legacy with the family and friends she created. She is now receiving her reward in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Somerby of Peachtree City on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Somerby Room.
