Mrs. Betty Jean Preston, age 77, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Jackson. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Pearl with Rev. Jeff Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home.

Mrs. Preston was born in Weir, MS on May 1, 1934. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed helping her husband in the garden when she was able and she loved to cook, but most of all Betty was a hard working woman who never gave up on herself or her family.

Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Lee and Minnie Mae Elliot King, a son Lynn Stevenson, a daughter Shelia McPhal, one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband Robert “Bob” Preston of Pearl. Two sons, Bobby Preston of Pearl and Terry Stevenson and his wife Patricia of Jackson. A daughter-in-law, Gail Stevenson of Pearl, Two sisters, Elizabeth Roberts and Cora Lee Chaffin both of Clinton and two brothers, Bill King of Madison and Jimmy King of Brandon. Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
