A Celebration Gathering for Family and Friends will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home.
Cecilia was born August 15, 1960, in Meridian, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Fred J. Owens and Shirley Keen Owens.
Family was always Cecilia’s highest priority. She dedicated herself to keeping her family close-knit and connected, and cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Always eager to stay active and involved in their lives, she embraced even the simplest joys—whether it was sharing stories, attending their activities, or happily joining in a game on the Wii just to see them smile.
A gifted seamstress, she retired from Walls Drapery and Upholstery. Over the course of her career she crafted drapes, trims, and intricate embellishments for commercial spaces, including theaters, and created custom shades and curtains for film productions.
She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She and her husband shared a passion for travel, frequently visiting Florida, exploring the mountains, and camping at nearly every campground across the state of Mississippi.
In addition to her parents Cecilia was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Knight.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Phillip Poe; daughter, Brandy Martin and husband Matthew; son, Chris Poe and wife Carrie; grandchildren, Christopher Poe, Canna Poe, Brianna Poe, and Patrick Martin; great-grandchildren, Mason and Waylon Duran; sisters, Kathy Wood, and Gail Ainsworth and husband Ralph; brothers, Freddy Owens and wife Shannon, and Kenny Owens and wife Theresa; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cecilia embraced life wholeheartedly and she left many cherished memories with those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
