

Daree Grace Freeman Mashburn, 85, was greeted at the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Her passing took place at the Cinco Ranch Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Katy, Texas in the presence of close family members.
Visitation is 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 3:00pm Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Mashburn was born on April 7, 1926 in Forest, Mississippi. She was the eldest daughter of Charlie John and Elsie Simmons Freeman. A native of Scott County, she grew up in Hillsboro and attended schools in Forest. She attended business school in Jackson.
On April 28, 1946, she married James "Bill" Mashburn . They were married 40 years before his death in August, 1986.
She spent her adult life in Pearl and Florence and was a member of First Baptist Church, Florence, .
Mrs. Mashburn worked as the bookkeeper for Standard Stationers for many years and retired as a vice-president of the corporation. She was a member of/active in and past president of Credit Women's International and the Executive Women's International.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Bill" Mashburn, her parents, Charlie John and Elsie Freeman and her brothers , B.C. Freeman and John Henry Freeman.
She is survived by her daughters, Eleanor Mashburn Long (Ed) of Florence and Carolyn Mashburn Easley (Harry) of Katy, Texas, four grandchildren, James "Jay" Long, Amy Long Freeman, Simeon Easley Crowell, and Amber Audrey Easley,
six great-grandchildren, Zachary Crowell, Naasson Crowell, Brandt Crowell, Elexis Craft, Karis Irwin and Kipton Freeman;
brother, Herbert Freeman of Tupelo; sister, Esther Sparks of Florence; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Peachtree Village in Brandon, Villa South in Florence, and Cinco Ranch Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Katy, Texas for the love and care given to Mrs. Mashburn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to First Baptist Church, Florence.
