Born March 5, 1964 in Lincoln, Missouri, she was a great and loving mother, daughter, wife, nana, and great-nana. Debbie cherished her family and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, her mother and brothers. She enjoyed going to her grandbaby’s pageants, as Debbie had a bit of a competitive streak. Her strong personality also carried over into competitions where she showed her beloved hot rod. Debbie delighted in the car show scene not only for the trophies, but no matter where they went, she seemed to know everybody and never met a stranger.
Debbie attended Abundant Love Fellowship Church in Florence. She had a very strong Faith in the Lord, never doubting and always keeping positive, as well as instilling those same values in her loved ones. Energetic and a go-getter, Debbie seemed to hardly ever sit down. She could be found working meticulously in the yard to maintain its pristine appearance or completing other home various improvement projects, often recruiting the assistance of her endearing husband and son. In addition, Debbie was an animal lover and relished in caring for her chickens, feeling special pride in her roosters. Otherwise, free moments were spent antiquing, shopping to add to her collection of clothes, shoes, and makeup, or prowling the aisles of Dillard’s or Hobby Lobby.
Preceding her in death is her father, Walter T. Westerfield and her husband, Dennis Butts.
Debbie is survived by her husband, John George; sons, Nick Butts (Brittany) and Corey George; daughters, Jessica George and Emily George; mother, Esther Bandy Westerfield; brothers, Carl Westerfield and Arnie Westerfield; 12 grandchildren, including Dakota Butts, Paisley Butts, Timber Butts, and Jayden George; great-grandchild, Oaklynne Moore; and a number of other dear extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to 3780 Hwy 80, Pearl, Mississippi 39208 for the Hearses, Hot Rods, and Harleys annual charity fundraising car show which Miss Debbie was a dedicated supporter of.
