Mrs. Evelyn Capps, 95, of Brandon, MS went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by loving family. She was the daughter of the late Charles Sherman and Emma Lois Langford. She was born October 1, 1924 in Crenshaw County, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Capps; sisters, Frances Middleton and Mary Grace McVay; and brothers, Sherman Langford, Joe Frank Langford and Bill Langford.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Capps and Barbara Fischer (Rick) of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Derek Mathews and Jamie Mathews; great grandchildren, Peyton Howard and Madison Mathews; sister, Betty Harrell (Joe) of Orange Beach, AL; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Capps was an interior designer for several years in Montgomery, AL. She lived her life caring for others, and was a wonderful, godly woman whose delight was sharing the love of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church, Brandon, MS, and walked in faith daily, showering love on everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression. The love of her life was her Lord and her family.
Visitation will be 9:30-11:30 am, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home with services following at 11:30 a.m. Rev. David Jett of Crossgates Baptist will be officiating. Graveside service will be held at Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
