Frances “Pat” was born April 28, 1923, in Searcy, AR, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Cleavie Buckner Parrish. She was raised in the Maben, MS area until her high school graduation. She received her nursing degree from Charity Hospital in New Orleans and served as a Public Health Nurse for Rankin County for more than 30 years. She was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church and a member of the Brandon Chapter No. 269 O.E.S. For Frances “Pat”, an avid bridge player, her joys in life were playing bridge with her many dear friends and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Frances “Pat” was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow W. Swilley, who passed away June 11, 1968; brothers, Jim, Earl, Otha, and J. W. Parrish; and sisters, Lois Manning, Izora Parrish, and Margaret Thompson.
Survivors include daughter, Sherry Kay Swilley Richardson and husband Mitch; granddaughter, Amy Parrish Richardson Bleich and husband Andy; grandson, Jacob Mitchell Richardson and wife Kate; great-grandchildren, Jackson Beauregard and Parrish Caroline Bleich, and Chatsworth Mitchell and Mary Katherine Richardson; brother, Gene Parrish; and sister, Polly Cole; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:30am until 1:00pm, Friday, March 6, 2020, at Brandon Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the church with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Services will be officiated by Dr. Clarence Cooper. Pallbearers are Mitch Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Andy Bleich, Jackson Bleich, Ralph Parrish, George Long, Tommy Long, and Billy Foxx Swilley.
The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to her caregivers, Dana Bradley, Denise Prejean, Michelle Montgomery, and the staff at The Haven in Baton Rouge.
